Dreaming With RentACloset: Day 4 Look AIFWSS18

Dreaming With RentACloset: Day 4 Look AIFWSS18

Hi Everyone!

We always think that these fashion show designs, high-end designers, and expensive brands are not a cup of tea for everyone, which is actually true! Not everyone has a bag full of money to buy big designer outfits but we all have one favorite designer in mind whom we would love to wear someday in our life. Well to make this easy, a brand called ‘Rent A Closet’ is here.

This amazing brand has India’s biggest designer garments which you can rent for your special occasion, wear it and make your dream come true. You do not have to spend a fortune of money to wear the garment but just the rental amount. Easy right! Well, I wanted to wear Anamika Khanna as she is one of my favorite designer for Fashion Week since I can imagine and Rent A Closet made my dream come true. You cannot only rent a garment from Rent A Closet but, you can also, buy the same at a discounted price. Not only garments, the brand also deals in accessories such as jewelry, footwear, and bags. Under Rent A Closet, you will find an endless variety of everything starting with ethnic wear, cocktail dresses, sparkly jewelry and even “Cinderella” dresses. Majority of the collection goes to the Indian market and all the top designer’s label like Varun Bahl, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Shantanu and Nikhil, Rimple and Harpreet Narula, Preeti S Kapoor, Amethyst, Anamika Khanna, Ridhima Bhasin are there with the brand from which you can select your outfit. The concept of Rent A Closet is simply, rent a dress of your choice for a few days, wear it, and then return it.

I was checking out their collection, when I saw this beautiful and elegant drape saree from Anamika Khanna’s collection and I immediately fall in love. The whole process of getting the saree and returning it was fairly simple. I wore this look for my Day 4 of AIFWSS18’. Everyone loves the look and I’m sure you do too. The saree itself was a statement piece, so I kept the whole look fairly simple with pink as a pop of color and paired my oxford shoe and carried a wooden clutch to support the earthy colors of this look. The saree looked classic in which I gave a twist of a modern touch with the accessories was the motto of the look. For me wearing saree was a nightmare but this beautiful piece enchanted my day 4 look of the fashion week and I can clearly say that this was a huge hit. Not only I wore my favorite designer for a fashion week but also in such minimum price. I love how Rent A Closet made this happen for me. Anamika Khanna is a huge name and wearing her was an amazing experience for me. I hope you like the look I created.

Hi Everyone!

This look was my day three look at the Amazon India Fashion Week where I paired two new labels which are owned by two of my favorite girls in my life. Life is all about doing new things and this blog post is dedicated to supporting women power.IMG_0419-2IMG_0442-2From the fashion label: Pastels owned by Alka and Chandni, I selected the dress because of its unique look. It has a shirt dress look and on the other hand, the cover-up lace detail with the English sleeves makes this dress outstanding. For my accessory, I have paired this beautiful marble clutch from Mango Pepal owned by Pooja and Latika. Both these labels are startup but they have some amazing designs. I’m linking their Instagram handles where you can see their products. I hope you like this pairing. I’m leaving you with some more pictures from this look.IMG_0456-2IMG_0445-2Untitled-12IMG_0479-2IMG_0464-2Untitled-1-2Untitled-11

White Blazer – Day 2 Look AIFWSS18

Hi Everyone!

Fashion weeks are always crazy starting from assembling the looks as what you are going to wear for all the days you are attending, collaborating with brands, clicking lookbooks and gathering all the fashion related updates. Delhi is the place where FDCI hosts Amazon India Fashion week for five days twice a year. This look was from the day two of AIFW SS’18 where I paired this beautiful white stripe blazer from my own labelHouse of Ruda with the slit dress.

Untitled-1IMG_0407 IMG_0375

I personally love this blazer as how beautifully it matches up with almost everything. You can wear this blazer with your formals as well as with your casuals too. For creating this look, I paired the black slit dress with the blazer and high ankle boots. For accessories, I paired a boxy trunk clutch, popcorn earrings, studded belt, Gold rings and a bracelet. I love pairing extraordinary when it comes to fashion week because you can give wings to your imagination during that time and no one judges you. I have also carried dual shade lipstick for this look where I have put a dark shade of brown to the upper lip and gold glitter to my lower lip.

I hope you love the pairing like I do. Also, check out ‘House of Ruda’ other styles as well which you can shop from our Instagram page. We are coming up with our website very soon. Thank you so much for reading.

Our Wedding Journey

Our Wedding Journey

Hi Everyone!

I know this post was long pending and after we completed one year of our wedding, it is high time that I show you our wedding journey through these beautiful pictures which were taken during the time. Whenever I thought of writing this blog post, I always get nervous and tell myself ‘Maybe next time’. But, it is finally the time that I should share our beautiful bonding with you.

We started our friendship around 11 years back when we met at my brother’s engagement. We became really close friends quickly and after a year we both confessed that we like each other which is more than our friendship. Well, it might sound very casual and happy go lucky, but the reality was much more of a mixture of ups and downs. While we survived for another 10 years of our relationship through lots of thick and thin, our love and respect for each other grew more and more. Five years back we decided to open up our blog together and after all of your love and support to our blog, we have finally opened up our Fashion Label ‘House of RUDA’.

We both did hard work in this relationship which finally turned into our ‘Happily Ever After’ and running almost around a year starting with the special meeting of our parents for our wedding discussion to getting the perfect outfit and to manage a memorable day for everyone, the three days of our wedding extravaganza started.

Our wedding started with our engagement which happened on 22nd November 2016. I always wanted to wear a ballroom gown in one of my special days. As we are Hindus and we have to wear Indian attire, wearing a wedding gown is out of the list. So, I decided to wear it on my engagement. We literally created this gown from the scratch starting with selecting the color to the embroidery and the vial. I was very nervous about this attire as how the final look will be and will everyone like it or not! I was really happy that everyone loved it and I actually got lots of compliments on the gown.

The next day was the Mehendi night. I decided to keep the look simple so that I will be comfortable enough to move and dance around. I added custom-made flower jewelry for my Mehendi look. The next day which was 24th November 2016, was the wedding day. In morning, we had puja, which in Bengali we call ‘Nanni Mukh’ in which we remember our four fathers. I wore Bengali red bordered traditional sari for the ceremony. Followed by Haldi ceremony for which I wore a georgette yellow sari with a loose braid.

After the house ceremonies, I quickly had my lunch and rushed towards the venue where my makeup artist was waiting to get started with my wedding look. My wedding lehenga was a blood red lehenga with double dupatta.

My makeup artist Alok, did a fantastic job and I was super happy with the makeup and the hairdo. I’m so blessed that I have got my second parents so awesome and loving and a little sister. Now, I have two families to take care of and I love it.

I hope you like all the looks. Thank you so much for reading this and sending all your love.

Day 1 Look AIFW & Meet and Greet Invite

Day 1 Look AIFW & Meet and Greet Invite

Hi Everyone!

I wore this outfit on the day 1 of the Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2018. The T-Shirt is from Nida Mehmood’s latest sports collection which was showcased at the runway. I received this T-Shirt 2 days prior to the show and I was wondering what to pair with this which can make it stand out. I decided to create a skirt with patches all over. We ran around the whole Delhi to find out these patches and net to create the skirt. First I thought some tailor will make the skirt for me but when every tailor around my place said no because it was Diwali time and last minute, I decided to sew this on my own.

IMG_0304-1 IMG_0354-1 IMG_0341-1 IMG_0321-1 Untitled-1 IMG_0297-1 IMG_0334-1

I finished making the skirt overnight and wore it the next day to the fashion week. There is a saying ‘Hard work always pays off’! The outfit was a great hit at the fashion week and it also got featured in HT City (super happy about the feature).

Orange Fever with Jacket Dress

Orange Fever with Jacket Dress

Hi Everyone! Durga Puja and Dussehra just went by and Diwali is coming on our way. Lots of festivity and celebration going on and on this very special occasion (I’m so excited to tell you!), we have launched our Women Western Wear in the name of RUDA and we have started selling on Shopclues, Flipkart, and Voonik. We are also on Instagram and Facebook through which you can see our products and place the order.

We have big plans for the brand to make it reach great heights starting with opening its own website and fashion trend. We are working on to make this brand available for everyone and we need your help for a successful venture. We need your love and support, so please like and share our Insta page and facebook page and check our products.

While we were busy launching the brand, I quickly edited these pictures and started writing this blog post. I was roaming around GK Part 2 Market when I saw this beautiful jacket which you can wear as a dress also. It’s not always mandatory that big brands have trendy products. Small retailers also make amazing pieces if you have the eyes to search it. I immediately fall in love with this jacket because I love the pieces to be in my wardrobe which can be worn in various different ways. Here, I’m wearing it as a dress as well as paired it with my tank top and mini skirt to make it look like a jacket worn over a dress.

Hi Everyone!

We have recently visited Nainital where we stayed at Two Chimneys for which we have done a review blog (here) and VLog (here) on our channel. The place was so beautiful that we also used their location for our lookbook shoot. I totally love to shot in a location which is quiet and serene and you can actually get lots of beautiful pictures. Though this place was not very quiet as in the middle of shot we have to pack and run because a group of monkeys came to visit us. Well, that was a little scary (a lot!).

For this look, I have paired a torn high waist jean which is folded from the bottom for it to look like a boyfriend jeans. The top is from Zara which I got recently on sale. There was this huge clearance sale going on at Zara and I have managed to a bagged couple of great pieces and one of them is this beautiful oversized crop top. I totally love the way the top has a metallic detail on it which makes it look rug and fancy at the same time.

IMG_9550-1 IMG_9542-1 IMG_9535-1

To finish off the look, I paired the metallic brogues which also have wedge heels which I love in these shoes. Who does not like to feel comfortable and have the confidence of heels at the same time? Well, I do! Also, the statement jewelry piece – The Chokers. I love how beautifully the chokers added that trend outlook to the whole pairing. This season you can see the Choker fashion everywhere. It was once famous in 90’s fashion which again came back with a bang!

Mother Nature: White Top & Denim Short

Hi Everyone!

I’m here in Rishikesh when I’m writing this post. Sitting in this small beautiful café and watching the Ganga flowing through the mountains is breath-taking and the rain added to its beauty. This awesome view inspired me to write and the breeze brings this lovely wet soil scent. I’m looking at the beauty of Rishikesh like this for the first time and all I can say is that I’m blessed to be here after all. Trust me after Maldives, I have been too many places for review but this is the second time that I came so close to nature.

Maldives is like a dream now which I lived and this will be the last lookbook post from that dream. Here, I have paired my off shoulder top, denim shorts, and sneakers. We went for snorkelling a day before we did this shoot and the next day I released that I’m all sun burn. I was scared to show off my shoulder but the sun burn actually came out really nice like someone applied blush on me. I totally love the look and it came out really casual and hip. This month there are so many places to visit are scheduled and I will look forward to get more closer to nature. Keep checking our stories and snapchat to know more on our travel.

Thank you so much for reading this. Let us where are you traveling next and I might make our next travel there. Here are the links of the other two beach look ( Look One & Look Two) and our lookbook video on our channel:

Hi Everyone!

This is another lookbook post what we shoot at Maldives. Sheer top and hat are an essential for your beach holiday. While I’m writing this post, my mind is asking me to take another beach holiday. Well I’m that soon but first, let’s discuss this look 😊

IMG_0916-1 IMG_0932-1

In this look, I have paired this beautiful sheer top with denim shorts and hat. If you do not wear or carry proper to the beach, you will end up burning yourself in the scorching heat during the day. Always carry hats, sheer cover-ups or tops, and a good sunscreen lotion. You will enjoy your beach holidays to the fullest if you use these while your stay. We have also done a lookbook video on this look, so have a look here:
