Winter Look in Summer

Winter Look in Summer

Hi Everyone!

If you are missing out those winter boots and overcoats just because it’s summers and its scorching heat outside, then this lookbook is just for you. Trust me, I love wearing long coats and boots for summers too but slightly an alternative way of wearing. There are a lot of cotton overcoats available in the market which you can mix and match with your outfit to give it a chic look.

I wore a basic black t-shirt with high waist pants. I added this Shein check cut-sleeve Double Breasted Glen Plaid Vest Dress as an overcoat just to give that winter edged look. This is a summer alternate outfit which looks glam and also gives that winter cozy feel. I also have been loving these boots since they arrived and I have paired them so many times with different outfit. As white been a universal color which complements every other color, these boots look gorgeous with almost everything. I wore this outfit for India Fashion Week.

Summers are beautiful but layering an outfit is almost impossible. But if you will add more cotton fabrics to your pairings, it will keep your body temperature cool and will look fabulous at the same time. Thank you so much for reading. I hope you like the pairing.

The Comfort Game

The Comfort Game

Hi Everyone!

My birthday just passed. If you ask me, I’m not a crazy party person. Instead, I love hanging out with friends, eat out and catch a movie kind of a person. So I did spend my birthday like that. The interesting thing that happened was, I’m planning to get a new camera and I almost made my mind for Canon 6D Mark II and when I went on my birthday to buy it, I got totally confused with Sony A7 Mark III. So, I did not buy anything and I came back home totally confused as which one to get now. If you have any suggestions, please help me selecting a camera for my work as I have to get one urgently.

Currently, I’m loving the clothing combos which comes with tops and bottoms together. This is one of the sets that I’m crushing these days. I can wear this sweatpants and jacket set for a jog or as my airport look. This is one of the versatile pieces that I can pair with other tops and bottoms too.

I can definitely say that this is a very comfortable pairing which can be paired as a fashion statement by pairing your favorite boots and a fanny pack. This is a perfect airport look too. The Poly fabric of this garment gives it a very stylish look and also keeps you warm from inside. I totally love the look and the fit it gave me.

Its Cloaking Time

Its Cloaking Time

Fashion Trends keep changing with the season. Last year we have seen many different trends coming and going. Many got really famous and I tried it as well and shared it with all of you through this blog. Some of the trends which were huge last year were: Sock Booties, Ultra Slim Sunglasses, Fanny Packs, Sheer Trend, PVC Trend, Ultra Cropped Sweatshirts and many more. Some of them we totally love while some trends we prayed to vanish as soon as we saw them.

IMG_4501 Untitled-1

But the trend that I’m talking about today is Cap Sleeves Trend. When I saw the trend, I totally loved it. To enjoy the trend on me, I got this beautiful jumpsuit with the Cap Sleeve look. The jumpsuit looked super elegant and chic. I immediately knew that this can be in my closet. I always give preference to comfort first when I select any cloth for myself and what is best than a jumpsuit. After I received this, I tried it on instantly I fall in love with this outfit as the fit was great and so as the fabric. I knew this can be a hit at fashion week.

It’s fun to be at the Fashion Week but it gets very tiring if you are not wearing something which is comfortable. The cap sleeve on this jumpsuit looked more like a cloak which gave it an interesting twist to the garment which was also perfect for Fashion Week because Fashion Week’s for us is all about coming out of your comfort zone and wear something out of the box. With the Cap Sleeve trend, I paired another 2017 trend which was Fanny Packs. To my surprise, the jumpsuit and the bag looked beautiful together and complemented each other.

This look is defiantly one of my favorite looks so far. Let me know which fashion trend you guys love from last year and would want to continue? I hope you like the look and the blog post. Thank you so much for reading.

The Fond Memories

The Fond Memories

Hi Everyone!

Recently I went to a couple of places before launching our own website for HouseofRuda. The website launch took a toll on me and with that, we are also shifting to a new place as our home is getting rebuilt. In all of this, I’m craving for a vacation again but before doing so, I would like to finish my pending projects. I have a couple of things lined up – few collaborations, travel blogs and videos, makeup tutorials and of course HouseofRuda’s work (that’s a lot of work BTW). Don’t know when I can plan my next holiday but for now, I’m looking at these images and cherishing the time I visited Mussoorie.

IMG_4345 IMG_4352-1 IMG_4342

As I usually take 2-3 outfits where ever I go for vacation for my lookbook shoots. You can say I cannot leave behind my work, no matter if I’m on vacation too. As we went for Mussoorie Gateway property review, I grabbed this chance and shot this outfit.

When it comes to styling, I take one item from my closet and pair the rest of the garments around it. For this look, my blazer is the highlight. I paired the whole look around this beautiful pink color blazer which I got from Shein. I kept the look contemporary by pairing high waist shorts and a basic grey t-shirt. To accessories the whole look, I added my golden flap brogues, basic watch, a minimal neckpiece, and my reading glasses. Out of lots of looks, I did in past, I can say this is one of my favorites so far.

This look is perfect for a day out and for brunches or a beach wedding (wink*). I hope you like the look. Thank you so much for reading it.

PS: You can use the coupon code: Ruchika04, and enjoy ₹300 off orders over ₹2600.

Black and Plaid Love

Black and Plaid Love

Hi Everyone!

Last year, I was traveling almost every month and after some time, I got so tired of traveling that I told myself, I had to stop! But now as I have taken a good amount of rest because of my health issues and my time required in my work, I am ready to travel again.

Starting with the property review in Mussoorie this month, I am all set to start my travel videos and blog posts again and you will be seeing a lot of them coming up in the coming months. If you still do not follow me on my Instagram, do follow me there, as I will be updating all my stories and my travel experience on my handle.

I am super excited to start my traveling experience all over again and sharing with you all.

I love this summer outfit idea, where I have paired my crop plaid top with the frill waist capri pants. I went to three different events wearing the same outfit and I’m in total love with the look. I wore the same top with the same plaid pattern skirt in one of my earlier lookbook (here).

This look is very chic and smart and perfect for a day out or for your formal events. Plaid Pattern is currently in fashion and if you pair it correctly they look outstanding.

Thank you so much for reading the post. I hope you love the look.

A Bling Night with the Sequins Dress

A Bling Night with the Sequins Dress

Hi Everyone!

This dress reminds me of the movie ‘Nerve’ where Emma Roberts wore a green sequins glitter dress in one of her dares. She looked pretty in the glitter dress and with her muddy sneakers in the movie. When I saw this dress on Shein, I thought this is the perfect replica of the dress she wore. I stop myself so many times from buying it, but I ended up getting it for me. This is a perfect party or a Saturday night dress for anyone who likes a Mini or a bodycon dress. I’m soon going to Goa and this will be a perfect night out dress.TPP_7005-2-1 TPP_7043-2 We choose a bar location for our shoot in particular because I wanted to create that ambiance which can do justice to the dress. The dress itself is such a statement piece that you actually do not need to wear it with anything. To keep everything simple,  I paired a simple block heel and a black clutch to go with it.TPP_6994-2-1 TPP_6996-2 The beautiful Emerald color of this dress, make me fall in love with it.  I think it is so important to have some statement pieces in your wardrobe, that when you wear them, you create your own statement of style. If you want to get this dress,  follow the link in the outfit section below.TPP_6961-2-1 TPP_7012-2Hope you have a great weekend and happy monsoon!  Thank you for reading and special thanks to Shein and Publiq Bar and kitchen for partnering on this post!

Summer Classics: Trench Jacket & Torn Denim

Summer Classics: Trench Jacket & Torn Denim

Hi Everyone!

I have been a bit slower in posting lookbooks recently and that is because we are finally launching our women fashion garment label and giving it a form of an online website. I’m super excited to launch the website soon and we are putting all our efforts and hard work on the website and doing all the required task with it. I will soon be releasing the same with all of you and I hope you like whatever we are coming up with. I will be needing all your support and love for making the website a successful venture. All your suggestions and love are welcome.

Coming back to today’s look! It is inspired by the summer essentials which we required to create an everyday look. For a casual, to a formal look, you need a structured blazer, but it is very difficult to wear blazers during summer because of the hot and humid climate. I created the whole look very summer friendly by pairing a torn denim with a tank top and on top of it to make it more structured, I paired a summer trench jacket with it. I have designed this trench jacket on my own keeping the structured look and the climate in mind. You will soon see the same trench jacket in our garment line in a different color.

IMG_4242 IMG_4204-1

Recently got this torn denim from Shein. This is not only torn from the knee but also from the ankle which is giving it a very cute and girly look. The denim feels super stretchy and true to its size. I totally love it. If you want to get this same denim then please click on the link provided at the outfit section.

Indian Look with Rent A Closet

Indian Look with Rent A Closet

Hi Everyone!

I’m back with another Indian look! Many of you told me that I look better in Indian than western wear but I feel more comfortable carrying western wear and I always feel that Indian wear need more elegance and patience to wear. However, whenever I wear something in Indian wear, you all love it.

IMG_4028 Untitled-11 IMG_4022

This beautiful grey lehnga is from Rent A Closet, which I totally love. Rent A Closet is an amalgamation of creative ideas and extravagant fashion choices where one can rent authentic designer wear clothes. Wearing designer wear for any occasion brings not only confidence but also happiness but not everyone can afford to wear their favorite designers but Rent A Closet has India’s biggest designer garments which you can rent for your special occasion, wear it and make your dream come true. You do not have to spend a fortune of money to wear your favorite designer garment but just the rental amount. There’s a seemingly endless variety of everything including ethnic wear, cocktail dresses, sparkly jewelry and even “Cinderella” dresses. Majority of the collection belongs to an ethnic category and all the top designers’ like Varun Bahl, Manish Arora, Shantanu and Nikhil, Ritu Kumar, Rimple and Harpreet Narula, Preeti S Kapoor, Amethyst, Anamika Khanna, Ridhima Bhasin are going to be seen mainstream in the selection.

IMG_4101 IMG_4056 IMG_4124

The lehnga I’m wearing is from the designer house of RUHMAHSA and the actual price of this piece is Rs. 40000 but you can rent this from Rent A Closet for 3 days for Rs. 4000. How convenient is that! This beautiful piece is pretty simple yet it is giving a statement look. The renting process of Rent A Closet is fairly simple and easy. They will take your order, fit the garment in your size and get it delivered to your doorstep and after your rental period, all you have to return the piece.

Untitled-1 IMG_4009 IMG_4000

The last time I wore Rent A Closet was for AIFW (Amazon India Fashion Week) and that was a beautiful pre-draped saree from Anamika Khanna. I truly love how Rent A Closet making designer wear available for everyone.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you like the look.

Structure: Stripe Blazer & Lace Heels

Structure: Stripe Blazer & Lace Heels

Happy Thursday Guys!

Being a fashion blogger, I need have an artistic way of writing a blog, to create content, styling a garment and for that, I take a lot of inspiration from the people around me, from the places I go and from other bloggers too. I have been thinking about this look for a really long time and I finally created this look after I got my hands on to this beautiful lace shoe from Truffle Collection. For this look, I kept the neutral color palette in mind and gave a lot of emphasis on white and grey color collaboration.

Currently, on HouseofRuda we are selling this beautiful long blazer and when I created this piece, I was really happy to see the structure and the overall look of the blazer. Wearing blazer with this lace high ankle shoe, kind of completed the whole look for me. To maintain the minimalistic look of the pairing, I added a plain short and a black peplum top with my grey boxy bag. Just for a little blink to the whole outfit, I added the stone necklace. I believe minimalistic and comfort fashion is the new trend. From all the recent looks which I have created, this is one of my favorite look which actually came out super trendy.

We have recently collaborated with Truffle collection and produced a video where we showed how to wear thigh high boots in four different ways. Truffle collection has an amazing range of shoes available on their website from where you can shop. Here is the video where you can see all the four looks that I created:

I hope you like this look and our video. Thank you so much for reading this post.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!IMG_3780 IMG_3806 IMG_3836-2 IMG_3826 IMG_3798 IMG_3754

Last time I posted the lookbook with the crop top and skirt duo and you guys loved it absolutely so I thought why not sharing this amazing statement red blazer look with you guys. This blazer is also from Shein and I recently got my hands on it after looking at another blogger friend of mine who also owns this blazer. I totally loved it on her and she told me that this is from Shein. I have few statement pieces in my wardrobe and this will be another addition to the collection. I really like the popping red color of this blazer and I think if we make many more pairings look good.

I have been crushing over with the look of an oversized blazer wearing with the bracelet and a simple bottom. So for this look, keeping the popping color of the blazer in mind I kept everything else neutral. I added my high waist leggings with a basic black lace bralette with fanny pack clutch and same color shoes.

I hope you like the look. Thank you so much for reading.
