Top Fabrics for Winter Weddings – Truly Bridal by Kalyan Jewellers

Hi Everyone!

Style, cut, texture, drape & seasons are all important factors in determining the best fabric for your wedding outfits. The same style dress can make you look and feel quite different in different fabrics, for each material is designed to look distinct.

From the colour palette to embroidery, fabric and silhouette, no one said planning your wedding trousseau would be easy!

The bride is without a doubt, the star of the evening. This winter, the brides have a reason to smile because winter Indian bridal wear has become brighter and hotter!! First things first, remember girls whether you are slim, tall, curvy or short, choose a fabric that will complement your body and personal style. Also, choose something you will be comfortable in and not something everyone else is wearing.

Wamika Sunda, fashion expert in the video talks about the wide variety of fabrics you can choose from to get your wedding outfits. She suggests velvet, organza, crepe, mal and the total must have in your wedding trousseau is silk.

Every wedding season brings with it a new range of fashion. Winter weddings see a lot of dark colours, whereas summer calls for more pastel shades. However, this wedding season you can experiment with different shades of colours.

Scarlet red or maroon is undoubtedly the favourite colour for Indian weddings. The biggest reason behind that is because of the tradition and culture that considers red colour as the “colour of a married woman”. This colour has been always on the top for decades.

If red or maroon isn’t your colour, you can try softer shades of pink especially powder pink. However, nowadays brides don’t stick to only shades of reds and pinks and if you are the not-so-traditional-bride you can try colours such as yellow, ivory, tangerine and emerald green.

So, all the brides to be don’t be afraid to experiment with different fabrics and silhouettes. But don’t get carried away and don’t go overboard, choose a colour that compliments your skin tone and your personality.

We hope this fashion advice was helpful to you and hope you look stunning on your D-day!

My go to New Year party outfit this year is this embellished jacket and knee high boots. Structured jackets are always my favourite as it does give the body a shape and help structure the winter layers. Knee high boots are in trend and getting famous among the runway. It is the best accessory to add glamour to your outfit.

I kept the overall pairing simple which highlighted the outfit. Black and white pairing look great in winter and adding a red lipstick is giving it a pop of colour.

I’m still in Pune and writing this post while my family is preparing to go to Karla Caves. I saw some pictures of the place online and really like the place and excited to visit it. I will be sharing the pictures on my social media soon. Let me know if you know and nearby places to visit and I will definitely try to visit them.

Must-Have Trends For Grooms – Truly Bridal by Kalyan Jewellers

Must-Have Trends For Grooms – Truly Bridal by Kalyan Jewellers

Hi Everyone!

We like to focus all our attention on all bride related things, which may leave the groom feeling a little lonely. But don’t worry boys, this time it’s all about you! We know it’s equally important for the groom to look stunning on the D-day.

While the quality and fit are without a doubt important, so is style. For all the grooms-to-be who want to look their best and make heads turn on the D-day, we have compiled a list of fashion essentials.

When it comes to dressing up for the wedding, everyone thinks the groom has the easy job- “just put on a suit”.  However, it is much more than that. Suits have also changed with fashion, boxy jacket & loose fit trousers have now been replaced with slim fits and short lengths. All shapes do not suit every body type, so talk to your tailor and get a suit that is the best fit for your body.

An embellished sherwani is a must have for an Indian groom. There is a lot your designer can do with your sherwani to make it look classy depending on your personal style and preferences. To keep it simple yet stylish you can choose from the wide range of fabrics available in the market.

Must-Have Trends For Grooms - Truly Bridal by Kalyan Jewellers

However, the wedding attire is not complete without a beautiful pair of jutti. You can get the jutti customised in the same fabric as your sherwani or even use contrasting shades.  The royal Indian groom look can only be achieved by a turban or pagdi. The turban holds both ceremonial or religious significance. The groom’s turban can be bejeweled with beautiful Kalgi. It’s a piece of jewelry that looks like a brooch.

If you don’t want to wear a turban, you can opt for an embellished stole. This will help accentuate your look, and it will give the bride some competition.

You can create a fusion look by combining the western and Indian style for a quirky effect. If you are the kind who loves to create their own sense of personal style and not follow the set norms, then this is the perfect style statement for you. You can mix & match short coats with traditional dhoti to make waves at your wedding.

It is always important to feel comfortable in the clothes you wear will provide you with the much-needed confidence. I hope these tips are helpful and you look stunning on your wedding day!!

Hi Everyone!

Some girls are very lucky and have relatives that pass down glorious family heirlooms. Heirloom trinkets are very special and an emotional experience for a girl. When it comes to weddings, gold has always remained our eternal favorite in traditional jewelry. In case, you don’t want to repeat a favorite piece of jewelry, try wearing it in different ways. Step up your style game, girls!!

There are various ways you can incorporate your grandmother’s and mother’s jewelry into your modern outfit such as by wearing a neck piece as a matha patti. This will not only make your outfit chic but it will give it a touch of retro to your outfit. You can even wear a statement earring as a maang tikka. There are so many ways you can wear the jewelry, all you need to do is give a new perspective to your precious jewels.

Pre-Wedding Checklist – Truly Bridal by KalyanJewellers

Pre-Wedding Checklist – Truly Bridal by KalyanJewellers

Hi Everyone!

If you wake up with a huge smile and a heavy hand because you are wearing a rock on your finger, you should feel like those few lucky girls who had a perfect proposal. Your fiancé is most likely to be exhausted from planning the proposal, picking the right ring and making sure nothing goes wrong. While he is tired, you are getting excited about the wedding and want to start planning it right away, basically turning into Bridezilla.

Wedding is a ceremony which unites two souls. It’s the start of a beautiful bond. However, wedding is a big event and requires a lot of hard work & planning. Wondering where to start from?  Chances are you are overwhelmed by the numerous tasks that lay ahead of you, now that you have decided to tie the knot. You are not only planning a wedding, you are also planning a vacation for your guests and a honeymoon for yourself. It can be overwhelming and things can fall through the cracks if you are not organized. Here is a checklist of items which will walk you through your wedding planning process & hopefully make it easier for you.

Pre-Wedding Checklist - Truly Bridal by KalyanJewellers

Sanna in this video will walk you through a pre-wedding checklist. Getting married was never easy. From invitations to shopping and guests & their drama, wedding is everything but romantic. It is very stressing as there is a huge task in front of you to be managed. The easiest of them all is pick a wedding theme/style which is probably the easiest of them all. You, as a little girl must have always dreamt of a fairy tale wedding with your prince charming. Just close your eyes and imagine a fantasy wedding. Also, while you’re at it, do your parents a favour, decide on a budget and try and stick to it. Save your parents high blood pressure.

However, the most important for us girls would be thejewellery and clothes… am I right?

You will be wearing your beautiful new lehenga, new jewellery& shoes and flaunting it like never before. Just remember that since jewellery is a much bigger investment and you will probably wear it more than your clothes, buy jewellery first and then match it with your lehenga. And girls, don’t forget to visit KalyanJewellers for the best wedding jewellery possible.

Wedding is not about Google searching girls, if you can’t handle the pressure of getting tasks done on time; hire a wedding planner to take some of the burden off your head. A professional planner can help you with the whole affair as the task-list is endless. They are more experienced than you and know very well how to fit the piece of a puzzle to make a picture look better.

As a bride, you will have more things to look at than the planning of your own wedding. So, don’t waste all your time planning your wedding but also pamper yourself to look your very best on your D-day.

Evaluate Your City with MySkinMyCity App

Evaluate Your City with MySkinMyCity App

Hi Everyone!

Delhi is full of pollution and Delhi’s winters are dry, which makes any skin type dull and flaky. On the last post I mentioned that I took the a skin test on  the EMAMI BoroPlus My Skin, My City campaign application and I got a 6 on the same. Check out the previous post here (Evaluate Your Skin with MySkinMyCity App)

Evaluate Your City with MySkinMyCity App

In that same application http://bit.ly/MySkinMyCity, there was a tab where you can see your city score as well. So, I tried that as well to see where Delhi falls and to my surprise Delhi falls at 7, Mumbai at almost 9, Kolkata at 7 and Chennai at 7.

I think Delhi people have the most skin related issues because of the growing pollution. We should definitely help our city be more pollution free and keep our skin healthy by drinking lots of water and doing regular skin care regime.

Evaluate Your City with MySkinMyCity App

Boroplus has come up with their moisturing lotion which helps the skin to be healthy and moisturised in this harsh weather. Skin care also includes moisturing and a moisturing lotion from the house of Emami is definitely going to be good.

Thank you so much for reading. I’m sure we will keep our Delhi and our skin healthy.

Evaluate Your Skin with MySkinMyCity App

Evaluate Your Skin with MySkinMyCity App

Hi Everyone!

Skin care is very important and to know how to take care of your skin is furthermore important. What if someone can actually give you a free consultation and tell you how bad or good is your skin is and advise you what initiative you need to take to make it better. Nobody does it for free. But I recently got to know about the EMAMI BoroPlus My Skin, My City campaign http://bit.ly/MySkinMyCity

Emami Boroplus started this campaign, which aims at helping women know their skin and improve it. They created an online application through which you can take a small test and the application will ask you certain questions and by answering them, you will get to know your skin score and how you can improve it. Evaluate Your Skin with MySkinMyCity App

I was super excited when I got to know about this application and immediately took the test. I always had dry skin issue and giving all the answers fairly correct, the application gave me an 6 out of 10 which is average and not so bad, however I thought it would give me a 2! Also, the application suggested me to have a daily skin regimen that includes moistening of the skin, which I will definitely going to do and drink lots of water to keep myself hydrated.

Evaluate Your Skin with MySkinMyCity App

I think this is really a cool application and Emami Boroplus is really helping to evaluate how and what your skin texture and damages are. We should all try this application and see what score your skin will get. I’m excited to know what scores did you got after playing the application.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you will have fun trying this application.
