Weekly Tip: Walk in Line – Stripe Wear

Weekly Tip: Walk in Line – Stripe Wear

Hi Everyone,
On the runways, designers were mixing wide and thin stripes or pairing stripes with florals or zig-zac prints.
Such combinations don’t work for day-to-day looks. The key to wearing stripes in the real world is to always wear just one print matched with a solid.

For example, a vertically striped blouse looks great with white trousers or jeans. Vertically striped pants or skirts can make you look taller. For dresses, avoid horizontal stripes that widen your shape — unless you have a boyish figure and need to create some curves.

Bold stripes can be intimidating—after all, no one wants to look like an umpire or a circus tent—but with some smart styling, they can be flattering. When paired with right pieces, stripes can really enhance your figure and keep you looking up-to-date.

Arabian Nights: Red Short Kurti and Harem Pajama

Arabian Nights: Red Short Kurti and Harem Pajama

Happy Sunday Everyone! Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Today I have paired my Aladdin Pajama popularly known as Harem Pajama ( it always reminds of Aladdin!! I use to love watching that show). I really like the look and feel of Harem Pajamas. These are very comfortable, airy and light. You can wear these pajamas in your office with a short kurti.

These are so comfortable that you can work wearing these the whole day.
have to run and hunt for locations every weekend. Wearing flats help a lot and this one is one of my favorite. I just love the metallic details in it.

Weekly Tip: Think Pink

Weekly Tip: Think Pink

Hi Everyone!
I was going through Vogue’s website and I really liked their article ‘Think Pink’ and then I thought of using this in my next weekly tip.
Pink is the color most commonly associated with femininity, sensitivity, tenderness, childhood, and the romantic and we girls love it.
So, think pink this autumn/winter. Instead of embellishment and color blocking with bold tones, go for shades of blush, rose and magenta in key pieces – sweaters, dresses, pants and skirts.
If you do not want wear pink head-to-toe, pair the various hues of rose with classic separates in neutral tones of whites, ivories, stone, khakhis, greys, blacks and metallics.
I bought a pink Anarkali suit recently to attend wedding function of my cousin brother. I can’t wait to show you that. I fall in love with that as soon as I saw it.

Sunny Afternoon: Summer Jacket and Blue Jean

Sunny Afternoon: Summer Jacket and Blue Jean

Hi Everyone!

I have paired my white summer jacket with my blue jean and a white t-shirt. This is a very casual and everyday look.

We normally wear denim Jean and t-shirt everyday and everywhere but if we add a jacket to it, we can convert the whole pairing into a more sophisticated and slick look. You can wear this look for a get together, casual meetings or for a lunch date 😉

Second Visit to WLFW SS14 – Amazing Show

Second Visit to WLFW SS14 – Amazing Show

Hi Everyone!

Today’s blog post is on my second visit to Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week SS14. I got invites from Wills Lifestyle and the whole experience was exhilarating. I attended the Hi 5 show which showcased designs by Autre by Gautam Gupta, Niharika Sharma, Poonam Dubay, Rinku Sobti and The Next Episode by Shantanu Singh.

The whole show was incredible with loads of colorful designs, patterns and prints. Lets see what each designer’s designs are like:

Starting from the first lineup by Autre by Gautam Gupta:

And here comes the designer Gautam Gupta..

The next lineup was by designer Niharika Sharma:

The design, the color, the print in this outfit was amazing and the added wow factor were the shoes. I simply loved them.

Next was Poonam Dubay’s lineup. She presented her blooming collection titled ‘Desert Rose’:

Poonam’s design had the Rajasthani grandeur at its peak with Saris, Angrakha and delicate Lehengas. Personally I loved all the designs by her. The designs were sophisticated Indian wear. Out of all of these, I loved the lehnga which Indrani Dasgupta wore:

Followed by was Rinku Sobti’s collection. She used solid colors: Yellow, Pink and Green in her collection. She showed prominent necklines in dazzling colors:

Structured dresses and saris dazzled the ramp in bright hue.

All in all I had great fun and enjoyed the show. Being a fashion blogger it always gives you joy to witness new trends and fashion.

I wore my white dress to the show and paired my yellow bag and belt with it.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you all like the post.

Fashion Week: Pleated Top and Black Shorts

Fashion Week: Pleated Top and Black Shorts

Hi Everyone!

Last week was very hectic but at the same time I had lots of fun. I attended my very first Fashion Week.

I was going through twitter and saw a contest by Elle India where one could win passes for the Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week SS’14 and that to for designer Nachiket Barve and Nida Mahmood’s show. I thought of giving it a chance. So, I took part in that contest and I really had fun giving all the answers and luckily I won.  I could not believe that I was actually going to attend this event and I was really excited.

I chose to wear my Bizarre blue pleated top and my black shorts to go with it. I kept the total outfit light and airy as I wanted to be comfortable and enjoy the show.

I had loads of fun at the show! Really amazing work by the designers. I was blown by the neutral colours and the fossil look which Nachiket used in his collection and in contrast he used red for some of his designs.

Some of my favorite outfits from Nachiket’s Show:

On the other hand Nida’s show was based on funky Bollywood style. Her outfits had amazing digital prints with flashy masks. I really liked the music with the Gabbar’s laugh in it.

Weekly Tip: Metallic Dress

Weekly Tip: Metallic Dress

Hi Everyone!

Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week Spring Summer 2013 is going to start from today and I’m very excited to let you guys know that I’m going to attend the famous designer Nachiket Barve’s show today. I will be updating the details of the show soon.

So, I was thinking what to wear for the show and suddenly ‘metallic dress’ came to my mind. And I thought why not writing a weekly tip on it.

Metallic dresses are very good for attending an event or night parties. These dresses stand out among the crowd and so does the person who is wearing it.Select a metallic dress and you are good to go. You will look good as well as you will have that spark in your outfit which will make you the center of attraction. We all like a little attention don’t we?

Hi Everyone!

Wish all of you a very Happy Navratri!

We are finally over with our traveling video for Kesrauli, which will be our first video on our youtube channel and I will soon share the same with you all. I’m very excited and hope you all will like it.

Today I have paired my favorite Zara flair skirt again with a printed top. I have already paired this in one of my previous post ( Here ).

Last weekend we felt very lethargic to go out and shoot. So, we thought of covering the shoot at home only. We ran some test shots and we really liked the results which came out and I felt very free to pose for the camera too. Now, we are also considering our room as our shoot location ;).

Let me know how do you like the post.

Weekly Tip: Office Wear

Weekly Tip: Office Wear

Hi Everyone,

Today’s post is about Formal Wear. People choose formal wear as their office wear as we know. But the picture of formal wear has turned tremendously over the years. People not only prefer to dress-up formally in the office but also for a formal outing.

office wear1

office wear2

Formal wear no longer means those boring shirts and pants. High-waist skirts, Peplum, One piece dresses, Jackets etc, are also included in the formal wear. One can look very stylish in a plain shirt or top and tight pants with a jacket and a pair of heels in the office. The ‘nerd’ glasses will also add up to the look. You can also wear loafers or bellies in office for more comfort and they look equally sexy.

One doesn’t have to shop crazy for the office wear. Just a simple addition will do the magic. Try doing something different everyday. Be it your top, your bottom, your hair or your shoes.

Gone are the days when Office or Formal wear meant only ‘Black and White’. You can now carry almost every color to pair with your formals. So GIRLS!!!!! Get out of those boring formals and bring some color and style to the office. Who knows the energy might as well bring a PROMOTION!!! along with.
